The University of Pennsylvania Division of Recreation and Intercollegiate Athletics (DRIA) is currently seeking interested and qualified candidates for the position of Marketing Assistant.
This position will report to the Director of Recreation Programming and will have touchpoints with the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement. The marketing team is focused on activities that support the strategic goals related to generating revenue, increasing attendance, and enhancing the Penn Athletics and Recreation brand.
This position will develop and implement marketing initiatives for Recreation events, initiatives, and programming. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Develop a marketing plan for assigned programs that increases interest and support by Penn students and the Penn community.
Develop and manage social media plans for Campus Recreation and Racquet platforms, working with staff to ensure coverage of all programs, events, and facilities.
Assist with curation and management of emails and e-newsletter communications, ensuring branding and content consistency across areas.
Assist with the planning and implementation of on-campus marketing plans and special events.
Lead the execution of on-site promotions during events.
Create marketing collateral for multiple platforms including print and digital for assigned programs and events.
Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with the recreation and racquet staff and members.
Collaborate with multiple departments to develop sales plans, fulfill sponsorship agreements, and execute marketing plans related to assigned programs.
Work with Marketing to promote and include recreation and racquet departments in the fan loyalty program, Penn Rewards.
Assist in the oversight of student interns.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Prior experience in athletic or recreation marketing, game management, or promotions
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work evenings and weekends on a flexible schedule
Self-motivated individual who takes initiative, outgoing personality combined with strong determination to work through difficult challenges
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite products
Telecommuting is allowed.
Additional Salary Information: This is a part-time appointment, approximately 20 hours per week, with total compensation of $15,000 per year.
