Responsibilities 1. Assist in the hiring, training, supervision, and development of (2+) Student Coordinators of Competitive Sports, 15 Student Supervisors (Club and Intramural), 30 Intramural Officials, Club Sport Officers, and a program with 21 clubs, 400+ club sport athletes and 4,000+ intramural participants. 2. Engage and aid with the planning and development of the Club Sports Council. 3. Assist in the management of Competitive Sport program finances. 4. Collaborate and develop relationships with volunteer coaches and advisors. 5. Continually develop and maintain systems to ensure safe conditions, operating procedures, and equipment for staff/participants. 6. Assist in establishing policies and procedures for facilities and programs, along with training and assessing staff on risk management skills and protocol. 7. Assist with coordinating and securing travel arrangements and 3rd party lodging with hotels, vendors and become a liaison between Competitive Sports and University of Tampa financial management. 8. Coordinate game and practice scheduling with club leaders, game opponents, and master schedule for facility utilization. 9. Assist with the schedule management of all Campus Recreation facilities, including the Cass Street Gymnasium (multi-use facility) and the Benson Alex Riseman Fitness and Recreation Center basketball and beach volleyball courts (three each). 10. Coordinate marketing, social media and publicity efforts for the Competitive Sports program. 11. Conduct regular reviews, evaluations, surveys, assessments and reports of programs, equipment and facilities. 12. Assist with the administration of Competitive Sports leagues, tournaments, and special events. 13. Assist with the training and development of intramural officials. 14. Attend trainings and fully engage in learning and utilizing university-wide technology, specifically Workday, and other department specific technology platforms. 15. Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.
Requirements 1. Master's Degree required in Exercise Science, Health Science, Recreation Management, Sport Management, Student Affairs or related fields. 2. Minimum two years of experience working or volunteering with club sports and intramural sports and knowledge of its day-to-day components. 3. Minimum two years of officiating experience at any of the following levels, High School, Recreational League and/or Intramural Sports . 4. Must be able to communicate clearly with students, faculty, and staff. 5. Previous experience with technology such as IMLeagues, InnoSoft Fusion, WhenToWork, Connect2Concepts, Engage or similar programs. 6. Experience managing student, part-time and/or full-time employees. 7. Must have or attain (within 90 days of employment) a valid CPR/AED and First Aid Instructor Certification from the American Red Cross. 8. Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office. 9. Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.
Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Summer - Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Flexibility to work and manage events during evenings, late nights and weekends.
