As part of the Student Success Team, the Esports Program Coordinator provides a wide range of Esports strategy, program leadership, fiscal oversight, staff management and compliance functions. This role serves as the University of South Florida's representative to competitive esports leagues/federations (rules committees, conference guidance) and as the program anchor at USF (relationship manager to academia, research, business advancement, etc.). Provides program leadership of competitive club teams, social and recreational aspects of both the online discord community and anticipated 2700 sq. ft USF Esports Living Lab. Manages staff of graduate and undergraduate student employees supporting intra-university competition as well as on-campus student interactions with technology.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Designs, implements, and provides ongoing leadership for the USF Esports program. Includes strategic objectives, staffing, compliance needs and overall program requirements to ensure a successful and sustainable program. Recruits, hires, trains and manages a diverse staff of students and volunteers to support a robust program with multiple competitive travel teams.
Collaborates with core Information Technology teams (client services, managed hosting, application development, networking, service management) on projects and operational support. Coordinates maintenance windows, data privacy and security assessments, methods for the efficient operation of high-performance
Collaborates with Sports Programs Coordinators to develop ongoing leagues, tournaments, and events that are open to all USF students interested in competing or gaming recreationally.
Advises the Esports Club Teams to aid in the retention and recruitment of future official competitive teams. Assists in the development of events and initiatives to enhance student body opportunities for engagement who are not able to make the official USF Esports competitive rosters.
Establishes working relationships with other campus entities to implement global policies and procedures to better facilitate programmatic operations: New Student Connections, Office of Residence Life, Student Government, A&S Business Office, SG Travel Office, Student Rights and Responsibilities, Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement, and MUMA College of Business.
Maintains usage metrics and oversee facility forecasting and dashboards. Project future technology and space needs, based on current and historical usage. Collaborates with university programs and community for outreach programs related to Esports and gaming.
Performs other duties as assigned. Designated as essential personnel

This position requires a Bachelor's degree, with at least one year of experience in a student affairs or student personnel position; or a Master's degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, or Sports Recreation Administration. Work experience may not be substituted for the Bachelor's degree requirement for this position.
