The Coordinator of Facility Operations assists in the professional management and supervision of The University of Alabama's Student Recreation Center, Robert E. Witt Student Activity Center, and seasonal staffing of the Outdoor Pool during weekday, afternoon and evening hours. During evening hours, the incumbent shares responsibility for all functions relating to the operations and maintenance of UREC facilities including but not limited to: patron services and amenities; supervision of approximately 150-170 part time student assistants, and student building supervisors; scheduling of facilities; revenue accounting; risk assessment and management; issuance and maintenance of sports and fitness equipment; sports equipment inventory; policy administration and injury management. Responsible for communicating problems with facility cleanliness and mechanical systems to the Associate Director for Facility Operations & Special Events, and provides a respectful, supportive and healthy environment for University Recreation participants. Through the coordination and implementation of these duties, the Coordinator ensures the safety and wellbeing of participants which creates an environment for health and fitness improvement. This individual must work toward the department and University goals of diversity, equity, inclusion and outreach in student selection, patron relations, program offerings and special events. Duties also include recruitment and supervision of staff and/or student workers, providing student development opportunities and patron relations, in addition to primary responsibilities in managing patron services and relations, managing equipment, and administrative tasks such as payroll, budgeting and accounting.
Normal Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 10:00am to 7:00pm; some nights and weekends required

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of facility operations experience in a collegiate or municipal recreation setting; OR Master's degree or higher and one (1) year of facility operations experience in a collegiate or municipal recreation setting. Will consider graduate assistantship or internship experience if performed with primary emphasis in facility operations. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.
