Administration of all aspects of the club sports program which include but not limited to: Club Sport officer training, student/leadership development, advisor training, budget, policy creation, travel, equipment purchasing and inventory, participant eligibility, knowledge/enforcement of national governing body standards and rules, coaches, indoor and outdoor facility reservations, marketing, and risk management.
Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, supervising and evaluating program assistants, student supervisors or other types of employees for the program.
Assist with oversight/creating of university and foundation accounts for all Club Sports.
Serve as a liaison to the Club Sports Advisory Committee.
Recruit new club teams and participants.
Develop, supervise, and evaluate full time and part time personnel.
Develop and enforce program policies, procedures, and protocols (staff manuals, program handbooks), framed around fostering relationships with participants and campus partners, developing excellence in student staff, and aligning with University and Student Standards and Conduct policies.
Compile and evaluate information and statistics for activity, semester, and annual reporting.
Create and implement short and long-term goals for use in program area assessment, learning outcomes, and strategic planning, as well as, participate in needs assessment for program and facilities.
Prepare and administering of a planned budget for the Club Sports Program, including monthly budgeting, payroll, and maintenance and equipment.
Collaborate with the Student Life Marketing individual to design and implement an effective marketing plan for the Club Sports Program.
Utilize program and departmental software and applications including Fusion, payroll software and others.
Purchase, maintenance, and long-term planning of inventory, including equipment, uniforms, and awards.
Oversee and or delegate maintenance and set up of all facilities utilized by the Club Sports program, perform risk management checks and observe participant behaviors in the Club Sports program.
Assist with planning and participate in University Recreation’s departmental events and activities.
Participate in the development of learning outcomes, strategic planning and other departmental initiatives.
Assess risk management policies and procedures and maintain program compliance.
Attend Department of Campus recreation meetings as scheduled.
Serve on campus and departmental committees as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in a field related to Recreation, Sports Administration, Health/Physical Education or Student Personnel Management.
Minimum of 1 (one) year of professional experience in Campus Recreation working with Sport Clubs or Competitive Sports Programs.
Certified in American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid or American Heart Association.
Involvement with NIRSA.
Master's degree in Recreation, Sports Management, or related field.
Two (2) years of professional or graduate school experience in Campus Recreation directly working with sport club/competitive sports program preferred.
Documented experience with:
Programming, supervision, organizational tasks, training, Assessment and Student development.
Developing and managing program budgets and risk management procedures.
Professional working experience in the administration of a student organization/club sports/competitive sports program.
Certified in American Red Cross or American heart Association CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor’s certification.
Active NIRSA Membership.

COORDINATOR – FACILITY OPERATIONS
Pittsburg State University is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, innovative, student-centered leader for the position Coordinator, Facility Operations and Student Development. We seek an individual with proven leadership experience capable of working in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will provide leadership that results in top quality services and facilities that promote and enhance student success inside and outside of the classroom.
The candidate will provide leadership and manage the day-to-day operations & reservations of Campus Recreation operated and supervised facilities with an emphasis on providing a safe, well maintained and proficiently staffed environment. Facilities of responsibility include the 100,000 square-foot Student Recreation Center (SRC), Garfield Weede Gymnasium and the Robert W. Plaster Center. Facilities are used by Students, Faculty/Staff, Department of Campus Recreation programs, HHPR & ROTC academic departments, Intercollegiate Athletics, numerous campus partners and the surrounding Pittsburg, KS. community.
Specific responsibilities include:
Maintain and supervise all student staff that support operations for the SRC and other Campus Recreation supervised facilities. This staff includes: Welcome center staff, facility supervisors, facility assistants, graduate assistants and any other student staff working for the department with a focus on student development and learning. Staff is responsible for operational procedures, emergency action plans, maintaining a clean, safe environment, risk management and providing quality customer service to all users. Facilities operate approximately 110 hours per week, seven days per week and have 400 – 1100 visitors daily.
Provide instruction and development opportunities for staff through training, coaching, and performance evaluations that incorporate student learning outcomes. Specific outcomes include critical thinking, creative thinking, problem solving, quality customer service, conflict resolution, initiative, communication, innovation, and other transferable skills related to work life after college.
Coordinate student staff in-service trainings specific to emergency, accident and incident protocols. Make changes to emergency action plan as needed. Track and maintain relevant certifications for respective staff.
Develop and execute on-going customer service training program to ensure goals, objectives and outcomes are met. Ensure high level of integrity, teamwork, communication and initiative of all staff.
Responsible for managing time cards and bi-weekly payroll for respective staff.
Identify strategies for facility operations to be more efficient and effective through technology and other processes and systems.
Assist with the development and execution of assessment programs for facility operations. Participate in overall department assessment and goal planning.
Ensure all department recreation facilities operate within required risk management procedures and oversee the implementation of standardized safety practices.
Communicate expectations, policies, and guidelines of appropriate use of facilities. Recommend improvements to policies and guidelines as needed.
Resolve conflicts that occur in facilities. Specific examples include user non-compliance of facility and department policies and guidelines, illegal access of facilities, inappropriate behavior, etc.
Responsible for daily indoor & outdoor reservations and communication of confirmed reservations.
Will need to be resourceful with the use of Fusion Software, backend programing and how to create reservations, print daily room/facility schedules and usage reports.
Will work with Associate Director of Programs and Maintenance to maintain/trouble shoot fitness equipment and complete basic repairs when needed.
Assist with membership services as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, TRAINING/EDUCATION - Experience with Innosoft Fusion software
REQUIRED LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION - Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR, AED and FA certification.
