The Coordinator-Sports Events will be responsible for developing, marketing, and managing facility reservations, sport-specific training programs, facility-owned tournaments, and sponsorship sales for the Round Rock Sports Center and Round Rock Multipurpose Complex.
Examples of Duties:
Schedule, manage, and oversee all facility rentals from local organizations including the reservation and payment tracking processes.
Coordinate with the facility operations staff on all set up needs for local facility rentals. Assist with on-site coordination of special events and programs: arrange services, coordinate set-up and take-down, provide event supervision, technical support, and evaluation, operate equipment, and work with event sponsors in planning and conducting events.
Develop, interpret, and apply policies and procedures as they relate to facility rentals and programming and consult with and respond to questions and concerns of users.
Responsible for the development and execution of all programming within the facility for all ages from youth to adults by creating instructional programs to meet the ability levels and development needs of athletes. Manage a marketing plan to attract and retain users for these programs.
Hire, manage, and schedule referees and coaches for programmed activities.
Prepare long-term strategy programs by continually seeking creative methods to increase programming efficiencies, decrease programming costs and provide an enhanced environment for users.
Develop, communicate, and enforce specific sport rules and regulations for programmed leagues and tournaments.
Create and foster relationships with other organizations within the local sports community.
Solicit local and regional businesses to fill available advertising and sponsorship opportunities. Maintain positive relationships with sponsors through regular contact, activation events, and ROI reporting.
Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Sport Management or closely related field required. One year of additional and related work experience may substitute for each year of college required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Three (3) to five (5) years of recreational sport programming/supervisory experience is required.
Valid Texas driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to employment.
