The Assistant Director of Esports will manage the daily operations of the brand new esports arena on campus and support all student activity and programming related to the space. The position will also support broader esports initiatives on the campus, in collaboration with the university’s Director of Esports. This position will work with coaches, advisors, and campus partners to develop a healthy community of gamers and to reinforce our values of equity and inclusion in the gaming community. In addition, this position will support the technology needs for the Department of Recreation and Wellness.

Required Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Computer Science, or related field with a minimum 3 years experience in administration of esports programs/events or other campus recreation programs. Requires in-depth workingknowledge of esports in areas such as program organization, team management, gaming equipment, coaching, etc. Proficient in the technical and operational aspects of esports and experience in at least one of the following games: League of Legends, Overwatch, and Hearthstone. Ability to work a flexible schedule (some evenings/weekends) and travel as needed. Successful record of working collaboratively with colleagues across constituency groups (faculty and staff). Must possess skills in organization and planning, prioritization, problem-solving, and oral and written communication.
Preferred Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or related field with knowledge in computer gaming or esports management preferred. Desire 3-5 years experience working with college students and in a managerial function that includes supervision, operational or facility oversight, and budget management. Prior experience with recreation management software packages including FUSION and EMS, as well as staff scheduling platforms.
