Develop, coordinate, and implement a comprehensive Intramural Sports program that includes team sports, weekend tournaments, and individual/dual sports
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate approximately 40 student employees (officials, student supervisors, and a lead student manager)
Coordinate training and evaluation programs for Intramural Sports officials
Maintain a positive and inclusive environment, promote excellent sportsmanship, and conduct participant ejection/disciplinary hearings as necessary
Assist in the management of the Intramural Sports budget
Maintain all intramural-related pages of the University Recreation website and social media
Advise a Urec student committee
Plan and implement the Housing League, a collaborative program with Residence Life
Identify teams and officials for participation in extramural tournaments, and facilitate participation opportunities for such events
Maintain a positive, clean, safe and inclusive environment in all programs
Continuously assess rules, policies and processes to improve overall program quality
Understand and positively advocate for all program areas within University Recreation, including Facilities, Fitness, Intramural Sports, Sport Clubs & Stout Adventures
Attend all University Recreation professional staff meeting, events, and initiatives as necessary
20% Sport Clubs
Assist with the management of the Sport Clubs Executive Board and all Sport Clubs Commission (SCC) meetings
Assist with creating and distributing club practices and competition schedules, working with the Associate Director
Assist with assigning a Sport Trainer, working with Athletic Trainers
Ensure that clubs abide by university and student government (SSA) policies and procedures.
Develop understanding of CONNECT and all related forms/functions that are utilized to support the Sport Clubs organization and marketing (travel auth., advising forms, practices, events)
15% - University Recreation Office & Multi-Purpose Room
Manage the University Recreation Office, Multi-Purpose Room (MPR), and racquetball courts
Supervise approximately 12 student desk attendants and a lead student manager
Maintain daily schedules in the MPR and ensure that the pre-determined facility prioritization blocks are adhered to (open/programmed recreation, athletic team practices, and physical education classes)
Maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the facility
Oversee all cash management processes for the University Recreation Office
Maintain a positive, clean, safe and inclusive environment in the University Recreation Office
Continuously assess policies and processes to improve overall program quality
Maintain an American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED Instructor certification in order to certify student staff semesterly
