MIT recreation, managed by HealthFitness, is looking for a Member Services Lead to join the team in Cambridge, MA. In this position, you will serve as the manager on duty for Member Services and an initial point of contact for MIT’s Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (DAPER). While on duty, you will provide customer service, supervise part-time staff, and communicate personnel, security, and emergency updates to the Assistant Director of Member Services. You will also be crossed trained to work all frontline desk positions and must be open and flexible to work varying operational hours if needed.

What you'll be doing:

• Serves as the Evening Supervisor and leads front line Member Services associates.
• Communicates with patrons, processes membership and program transactions, troubleshoots incidents and injuries, manages towel service, and enforces facility access policies.
• Manages the inventory and audit of pro shop items and branded merchandise. Monitors the Club Automation inventory database and updates items on a monthly basis. Communicates all ordering needs to the Director of Member Services.
• Assists the Event Manager and Manager on Duty (MOD) for MIT Athletics with special event supervision and troubleshooting.
• Manages of the Zesiger Center lost and found. 
• Facilities and reservations reports including work requests, rental group access lists, daily event sheets, event SOP forms. Updates and monitors squash court, golf range, and outdoor tennis reservations as needed.

What you’ll need: 

• High School Diploma or GED and 1+ year of related industry or customer service experience.
• A desire to pursue a career within Sport Management.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required within 30 days of hire.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate others.
• Ideal candidate will have Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Sport Management, Fitness, Business or related discipline.
