Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Intramural Sports

• Oversees league and student-staff scheduling for Intramural activities.
• Oversees maintenance and inventory of equipment.
• Oversees recruiting, hiring, training and evaluation of student staff.
• Assists with assessment of Intramural program including proposing new activities.
• Facilitates financial transactions related to supplies and equipment; provide time approvals for student staffing and payroll-related requests.

Club Sports

• Assists in day-to-day Club Sport administration.
• Monitors Club Sport events ensuring adequate support and risk management.
• Conducts Club Sport Officer trainings to familiarize all officers with current department and university policies and procedures.
• Tracks Club Sport eligibility requirements, inventory, and Campus Life trainings.
• Assists with developing policies, procedures, risk management, and leadership development.
• Assistant with promotion, marketing, and sharing the story of Club Sport student-athletes.

Facility Management

• Ensures all facilities are up to competition requirements including painting fields and setup of spaces.
• Oversees organization of all storage areas for IMs and Clubs.
• Manages the scheduling of indoor and outdoor facilities for rentals, security guard, and program use.
• Ensures all facilities are clean, organized, and well maintained, including regular meetings with housekeeping, maintenance, and grounds staff.

Varsity Camps & Clinics

• Coordinates and facilitates pre-planning activities with Varsity Coaches including scheduling of facilities.
• Assists in marketing, communications strategy, and website updates.
• Ensures daily camp operations adhere to policy and camper experience is exceptional.

Collaborates with campus partners and develop strong relationships across campus:

• Develops cooperative programming opportunities for new student orientation and throughout academic year.
• Works with Campus Life and Student Union Finance to advocate for Club Sports.
• Works with website manager to keep main website up to date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisory experience managing and developing diverse student populations.
• Registered or Certified high school or college official in at least one or more of the following sports (football, basketball, soccer, softball, or volleyball). Experience in developing officials.
• Demonstrated background in the training of sport officials and knowledge of NIRSA sport rules.
• NIRSA member and experience hosting extramural events.
• Relevant work experience in summer camps.
• Two years of experience working in a university recreation program with demonstrated ability to develop student development focused programs.
• Experience using IMLeagues, Fusion, Connect2 and EMS.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively manage student workers.
• Excellent planning and organization skills.
• Excellent decision making and prioritizing skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to assess and promote inclusive programs.
• Strong conflict management skills.
• Strong team work skills.
• Demonstrated competency in helping to meet program objectives, assessment, and helping to establish program priorities.
