Campus Recreation is excited for opportunity to grow our professional staff with the opening of the Downtown Fitness Center at Reynolds Hall, a 9,000 square foot satellite fitness facility on the downtown campus. Campus Recreation is seeking applicants for the Coordinator for Operations, a member of the Campus Recreation team who will with work in conjunction with the other Coordinator of Operations to support the management of both the Student Recreation Center and the Downtown Fitness Center facility operations and oversight of the student staff.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Campus Recreation, this position is responsible for working in a two coordinator system to provide oversight of the operations of the Student Rec Center and Downtown Fitness Center. Position will focus heavily on the opening of the Downtown Fitness Center space as it will open in Summer 2022. 

In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:

• Providing day to day leadership of member services and operations with an emphasis on customer service and maintaining fiscal accountancy
• Recruit, hire, on-board, train and supervise student staff including entry level and senior student staff positions.
• Provide daily staff supervision within member services and operations areas of focus.
• Collaborate with Student Rec Center staff to assist in new member outreach programs and services to meet the needs of the campus and surrounding communities.
• Conduct ongoing staff training and leadership development of staff in collaboration with other Campus Recreation professional staff.
• Coordinate and oversee a risk management plan pertinent to operations of the facility to ensure compliance with industry standard of care.
• Coordinate with Campus Recreation Fitness and Wellbeing staff to plan fitness programs and services, including group exercise and personal training, specific to the downtown facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in recreation, physical education, or related field required; master's degree preferred.   
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a college or university recreation environment with particular emphasis on a student development driven program, during which time the applicant has acquired and demonstrated the ability to perform the essential duties of the position. Graduate Assistant position may meet this requirement.
• Fiscal accountability. 
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities.
• Demonstrated experience and abilities to work as part of a professional team that collaborates effectively with colleagues.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Innosoft Fusion or similar recreation software.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm.
• Pass a Level 2 Background check
• Possess or obtain Adult and Child CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
• Complete and remain current with Title IX and BOG 49 training requirements
