About University of North Carolina at Charlotte - University Recreation
The University Recreation Department (UREC) is a vital component within the Division of Student Affairs on the campus of UNC Charlotte. UREC is responsible for the promotion, organization, and administration of structured and self-directed programs, facilities and services to enhance positive recreation and wellness lifestyles of the University community. One of the primary responsibilities of the department is to provide opportunities for participation in a variety of recreational activities and physical fitness programs which satisfy the diverse needs of students, faculty and staff, as well as, where appropriate, guests, alumni, and community participants. UREC is committed to promoting the on-going development of lifetime wellness habits associated with physical, social, emotional, and mental well-being. Moreover, University Recreation seeks to provide a framework for educational, leadership, and development opportunities through participation and employment in recreational programs.
