The Campus Recreation Intramural Program Coordinator is responsible for all facets of developing, administering, organizing, marketing, and assessing intramural programs leading a comprehensive annual calendar of diverse activities that reflect the needs, interests, and desires of the Pitt community. Program oversight includes leagues, tournaments, one day activities, and special events along with support of extramural programs. The core functions include personnel management and development; program leadership and management; and administration aligning functions, programs, and work environment with equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility strategies.

Coordinator works a varied on-campus schedule, including evenings and weekends, to ensure a superior participant and student employee experience.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree is preferred but not required; experience can be substituted for Master’s degree. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization in Recreation, Physical Education, Sports Management or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in recreation programming (e.g., intramural competitive and recreational sports, club sports) or similar recreation programs. Prefer experience managing collegiate sports programs including operations oversight, staffing, officials, training, maintenance, safety, etc.
• Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills; ability to lead and mentor students; demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with successful outcomes.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office software is required. Current First Aid/ CPR/ AED certification or obtained within 6 months of hiring.
