Come and work in our nationally recognized and award winning UND Student Wellness Center located on the campus of the University of North Dakota. Founded in 1883, the University of North Dakota (UND) is located in the heart of Grand Forks, ND.

Description

This position will oversee the delivery of marketing, design, and communication needs of the Student Health, University Counseling, and Wellness & Health Promotion departments through project management, brand awareness, and promotion of programs/events/initiatives that support the strategic goals of the health & wellness units. This position will create, coordinate, and manage effective internal and external communications (campus, social media, etc.) while overseeing the development of brand appropriate visual materials utilizing design, photography, and video to contribute to the department mission, goals, and priorities. The positions reports to the Director of Wellness & Health Promotion. 

Duties & Responsibilities (condensed)

• Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan, including marketing strategies and initiatives for the department and individual program areas, emphasizing a sense of belonging.
• Manage print, digital and web content through entire lifecycle, including campaign planning, writing, editing, revising, approving, scheduling, publishing and reporting.
• Collaborate with department team members on the development and design of marketing projects ensuring deadlines are met and goals are achieved.
• Directs, upholds, and educates staff to ensure all marketing and communication align with University branding standards, trademark regulations and current marketing strategies.
• Manages marketing and communications media for facility (digital displays, Neptune radio, and networked fitness).
• Oversee department social media accounts.
• Participates in writing and/or editing departmental content to be utilized in Wellness & Health Promotion printed materials and/or website pages.
• Initiate and/or assist in leading department involvement at campus orientations, information fairs, and other campus outreach events.
• Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, mentor and supervise the student Digital Media Specialist team (graphic design, social media, and photography/videography).
• Develop and manage annual budgets for all assigned operational/program areas.
• Promotes and cultivates an environment that values inclusiveness and diversity, engages in evidence-based decision-making, and promotes student development and learning.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you will need

• Background in marketing concepts.
• Experience with creative design, photography and/or videography.
• A commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity and inclusion.
• High-level organization and project management skills.
• Excellent proof-reading and writing skills.
• Ability to work in a team setting and in a collaborative manner.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with some evening and weekend work.

What we require (minimum requirements)

• Bachelor's degree with major field of study or emphasis in marketing, communications, graphic design, media/fine arts, public relations, recreation or other related field or Associates Degree with 3 to 4 years of applicable experience in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree
• One or more years of professional work experience in marketing, graphic design or communications.
• Experience using design software (ie: Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, etc.)
• Must have current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification or be able to obtain within two months of employment
• Successful completion of criminal history records check.

What we would like you to have (preferred requirements)

• Master's degree with major field of student or emphasis in Marketing, Communication, Media/Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Public Relations, Recreation or other related field.
• Three or more years of professional marketing experience in higher education and/or in a recreation/wellness setting.
• Experience with administration of social media platforms.
• Experience in leading, mentoring, and staff development
• Experience with in-house digital media production to include video content.
• Experience with assessment efforts and data analysis.
• Experience developing marketing and branding strategies using several disciplines (text, design, video, etc.) and media (guides, research, infographics, etc.)
