The Intramurals, Club Sports, and Climbing Wall Manager directly manages the programs and operations for the Intramural Sports,  Club Sports scheduling/communication, and Climbing Wall. Responsibilities include oversight of day-to-day operations associated with student supervision, program implementation, risk management, policy and procedure development and implementation, scheduling, budgeting and program assessment. The Manager works closely with other campus personnel in facility usage, promotion, staff development and continued development of the unit. Position requires regular evening and weekend supervision of programs and student staff support.

Intramural sports (50%, approximately 20 hours per week)

A. Provide professional direction for a comprehensive IM program with leagues.

B. Hire student managers and supervise them in the hiring of all program employees (10+ officials, 10+ supervisors). Observe University Centers employment practices in all programs.

C. Conduct appropriate training at the beginning of each semester and periodically as needed. Submit training evaluations upon request.

D. Evaluate direct reports and oversee appropriate evaluation of other staff in accordance with the University Centers student employment program.

E. Oversee all staff scheduling for leagues, provide guidance to student managers.

F. Update play schedules as each block is planned.

G. Ensure staffing for four blocks of play.

H. Develop and implement operating policies, program requirements, procedures, standards, risk management procedures, manuals and training. 

I. Communicate to the campus Maxient administrator on routing rules. Ensure accident/incident reports are completed by student employees. Maintain documentation related to all accident/incidents.

J. Establish and maintain processes for communication with all participants to address needs and ensure quality.

K. Complete and monitor spend plans (annual expenses of approximately $70,000) providing quarterly and yearly updates, and annual projections for all programs.

L. Facilitate IM financial transactions, payments and deposits. Maintain detailed and up-to-date records on all finances.

M. Implement direct outreach, promotional materials and social media content in collaboration with University Centers Marketing.

Climbing Wall (20%, approximately 8 hours per week)

A. Oversee the Climbing Wall daily operations including policy, procedures, safety checks, equipment procurement, maintenance, inspections, signage and cleanliness. Ensure an updated SOP is on file and in practice.

B. Oversee the climbing wall programs and services, rotating nights for best operation.

C. Hire, train, supervise and evaluate a student manager.

D. Oversee the student manager’s process during hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of students who staff the Climbing Wall.

E. Attend unit and student staff and training meetings. Plan and participate in PCIA training once annually for the fall semester. Submit training evaluation as requested.

F. Prepare annual spend plan for the climbing wall program and operation.

G. Recruit for and direct Kid’s Climb and member climb programming and scheduling. Respond to requests and questions efficiently.

H. Provide consistent supervision of Ryzer enrollments, registrations, members lists and deposits.

I. Implement direct outreach, promotional materials and social media content in collaboration with University Centers Marketing. Manage FitRec email box. 

Club Sports (10%, approximately 4 hours per week)

A. Supervise student scheduler responsible for club practice and competition space.

B. Supervise student supervisor responsible for daily club practice/event management.

C. Attend to scheduling questions and conflicts as they arise.

D. Compile and evaluate information and statistics for activity, semester, and annual reporting. 

Open Recreation (10%, approximately 4 hours per week)

A. Relay program and gym facility scheduling for entry into EMS, Facebook and website reporting. Reply to requests in FitRec emailbox.

B. Supervise Multi-Activity Center use in open gym including equipment checkout and replacement. 

Administration and Representation (10%, approximately 4 hours per week)

A. Attend departmental, Fitness and Recreation Pro-staff, 1:1s and other meetings as needed.

B. Compile and evaluate information and statistics for activity, semester, and annual reporting.

C. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director for Programs. 

Major Responsibilities for Summer Employment (100%, 40 hours per week)

A. Revise all policy and procedure manuals, safety and security manuals, and position folders for all units.

B. Complete inventories for all units and order equipment for next academic year.

C. Maintain email boxes for all programs.

D. Schedule facilities holds for all blocks of play for the upcoming academic year, including EMS entries.

E. Complete program planning for upcoming school year.

F. In conjunction with SGA and the budget office, organize 10-12 virtual trainings for club sports officers on the topics of finances, purchasing, securing and paying for services. Ensure 100% participation.

G. Ensure the review and updating of all club sports rosters. Include updated roster information in EMS.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; Master’s degree from a four-year college or university; Full-time experience in college programming; Budget experience; Planning experience.
