To provide assessment, treatment, and rehabilitative care to University of Wyoming students, educate the University community on injury prevention, rehabilitation, wellness, and other health-related issues, and to maintain the highest standards of care and integrity.

NOTE: THIS POSITION IS A N-217 CALENDAR POSITION (10 month).

• Provide athletic training services to University of Wyoming students through the University Wellness Center.
• Provide athletic training coverage during University of Wyoming Club and Intramural Sports events.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of athletic training facility, including setting up and breaking down patient modalities, stocking supplies, and monitoring equipment for maintenance.
• Has the ability to plan, implement, document and communicate appropriate rehabilitation strategies to students through various stages of rehabilitation.
• Assist in recruiting Athletic Training Graduate Assistant or intern and provide direct teaching and clinical supervision.
• Provide patient and community education in the areas of sports injury prevention and care.
• Perform baseline concussion testing and monitoring for Club Sport Athletes.
• Develop and cultivate contacts with supervising and referring physicians.
• Complete all training documentation in a timely manner and share with referring and supervising physician.
• Maintain confidentiality of athlete injury information.
• Maintain BOC certification.

• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Education:  Bachelor’s degree

Experience:  At least 2 years work-related experience

Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or other Requirement: 

• Certified Athletic Trainer
• Current NATA BOC Certification
• Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree.
• Experience working with a variety of sports.
• Experience working with collegiate athletes.
• Involvement with baseline concussion testing and monitoring.
• Experience hiring, mentoring, and overseeing student staff.
• Experience educating patients and the community in the area of sports injury prevention and care.
• Experience working with high-risk sports.
• Knowledge and experience with proper documentation and charting of athletic injuries.
• Demonstrated ability to create and maintain relationships with a diverse group of people, including students, athletes, non-athletes, medical providers, colleagues, and supervisors.
• First Aid/CPR/AED instructor certification.
