Intramural Sports and Student Government Association Coordinator
POSITION IDENTIFICATION AND SUMMARY
The Intramural Sports and Student Government Association Coordinator is responsible in assisting with managing, planning and developing the operational and service activities of the Activity Center including responsibilities in developing, managing, and coordinating student activities and community activities as related to State Technical College of Missouri. The individual in this position directly supports the Student Life Coordinator. This is an exempt, non-faculty, twelve-month “Professional” position.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
The Intramural Sports and Student Government Coordinator reports directly to the Student Life Coordinator and receives instruction from that office. Works with event coordinator to facilitate “Power UP”, Week of Welcome, and Open House. Work with volunteers and community members as appropriate for campus and community activities.
Internal relationships with all program departments, coordinators and club sponsors including SkillsUSA.
External relationships with organizations that may be users of the Activity Center as well as owners of facilities utilized by State Tech including relationships with businesses throughout Linn and the surrounding areas.
- Develops, implements, coordinates and evaluates an intramural program, including a diverse offering of individual/dual and teams activities that meet participant needs, skill level and safety/risk management guidelines.
- Provide coordination and oversight of intramural leagues and events, including activity implementation, officials training, and participant conduct.
- Develops community partnerships to enhance the relationships with the local areas (i.e. youth and adult programming)
- Develop and schedules annual/semester intramural activity schedule including facilities, equipment, marketing and maintenance.
- Hire, train, evaluate officials for State Tech hosted events.
- Coordinates the organization of the intramural registration process and manager’s meetings. Administers and maintains recreational management software (IMLeagues and Mission Control) that supports league, activity, participant and management as well as official and game scheduling.
- Coordinate youth and adult sports program, including a diverse offering of individual/dual and teams activities that meet participant needs, skill level and safety/risk management guidelines.
- Developing community service learning projects with campus groups
- Serve as an educator and resource to student organizations by growing students event management planning and execution knowledge for their respective organizations.
- Assist with the development of a full and positive campus life by cooperating with other departments within Student Affairs.
- Assist with promoting and increasing sports leagues and tournaments held at the center.
- Provides oversight and implementation of the student organization advisor development program and frequent communications with advisors.
- Develops and executes student organization leader professional development series.
- Promote the creation of and development of new clubs. Identify potential club advisors among existing campus personnel and provide resources/training for club advisors.
- Serve as Student Government Association advisor. Primary point of contact for Student Government Association Intramural Coordinator.
- Advise Student Government Association regarding its activities with special responsibility to promote responsible student decision making and to encourage campus wide student participation.
- Assist student clubs and their sponsors in budgeting, planning and organizing campus activities. Develop, review, and approve club budgets, activity requests and contracts.
- Develop leadership skills in students.
- May assist with student orientation and recruiting events.
- Develops informational and marketing materials about student activities and SGA events.
- Maintains and publicizes calendar of student events and activities.
- Facilitate, promote and assist with student recognition/award presentation events.
- Ability to work early mornings, late evenings, or weekends.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Arts/Science degree is preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence, memos, letters, minutes and press releases.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small/large group situations to clients, supervisor, faculty, staff, students and other employees of State Technical College of Missouri.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Good command of the written English language, spelling, and grammar.
- Superior typing and computer operation skills.
- A combination of education and experience may be used in lieu of the above.
