Position Summary
The Event Operations Manager manages all aspects and acts as the support system and liaison for all departments and vendors operating within Under Armour Venue Spaces. The Event Operations Manager will be responsible for the facility management, facility coordination, and staffing for the UA promenade, studio spaces, H&H cafeteria, Arena, track and turf stadium complex, and more.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages all aspects of venue spaces including but not limited to; product studios, Odyssey theatre, Humble and Hungry café seating, basketball arena, track and field complex, and other future venue spaces
- Provides oversight of inventory and simple maintenance needs and submits work order tickets for those appropriate in nature.
- Oversees signage, branding, and marketing in all venue services spaces
- Acts as the Lead Event Manager for events in all UA venue spaces
- Directly supervises Venues Services Coordinator
- Works with Facilities and Operations team to prep venue spaces with proper equipment and consistent cleanliness in preparation for events.
- Manages teammates and associated vendors during events
- Work with internal (or external) Athletic Trainers and EMS as needed
- Procurement and management of game/event day staff members including score board operators, security, EMS, Athletic Trainers, and others
- Oversight of supplemental building security guards on event and non-event days
- Work with CRE, UAP, and other UA departments to develop and implement venue services event operations plan.
- Execute crowd management and other safety related plans for venue services.
- Develops staffing plan, deployments, and event estimates for each venue as needed
- Schedule and lead pre-event meetings for assigned major events to include all pertinent internal departments and external partners
- Schedule and/or assist with after action meetings post event and event recap documentation
- Work with clients to understand their needs, collaborating with internal teammates to develop detailed event plans, event outlines, maps and diagrams
- Ensure the event elements of the contract are accurately executed and the equipment, physical set-up and personnel provided meet the requirements of the event, including the load-in and load-out of events as well as the arrival and departure of equipment and staging for the events
- Maintain and administer software programs associated with venue services including scheduling, website, ticketing, and Sharepoint sources.
- Oversee venue operations and logistics for any broadcast events.
- Responsible for the facility management and coordination of all support services including access and security, reservations, maintenance management, food service, and housekeeping.
- Responsible for providing access and collaborating to UA groups including marketing, teammate resource groups (TRG), human performance, testing, give back and more.
- Oversee event specifics with all departments and vendors, communicating the client’s objectives and event details regarding schedules, staffing, equipment rentals etc. including Housekeeping, Engineering, Food Service, Security, Medical, Production, IT, Parking, Public Safety, Ticketing, etc.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, contractors and all key internal and external key stakeholders
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet event, CRE, and UA needs
Education And / Or Experience
- Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in event management, client relations, and policies and procedures related to crowd management for large complex events.
- Must have basic knowledge of policies and procedures concerning events occurring in Sports Complex space;
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally
- Able to simultaneously manage a high level of detail across multiple projects
- Able to work well within a team environment offering leadership and support to team members whenever necessary
- Experience scheduling and coordinating sport reservations, concerts, and/or special event logistics
- Work necessary hours needed to complete job preparation plus event hours including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Walking significant distances, including up and down stairs, as needed to roam throughout the venue
Other Requirements
- Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our global headquarters in Baltimore, MD
- In Office Designation: 5 days a week in-office with the flexibility to work weekends as necessary
