he Division of Student Affairs invites candidates for the full-time position of Assistant Director (Programs) of Campus Recreation and Athletic Facilities. This position is primarily responsible for the program, facilities, and staff within Campus Recreation and Athletic Facilities and reports to the Director of Campus Recreation and Athletic Facilities. Responsibilities of the Assistant Director include but are not limited to:
Design, implementation, management, evaluation, delivery, and expansion of the University Intramural Sports program.
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and develop a student staff of approximately 50.
Ensure continuity in departmental and university business practices across Recreation and Intramural Sports (e.g., Waivers, Incident / Accident Reporting, Annual Reports, etc.)
Administer and advise the club sport program including but not limited to the Club Sports Budget Review Committee, club executive board members, club equipment inventory.
Ensure sport clubs meet all safety/risk management requirements on and off campus.
Coordinate and liaise with student organizations for campus runs, walks, etc.
Serve as a member Student Involvement team to assist with Welcome Week, Parents’ Weekend, Siblings’ Weekend, Homecoming and other cross-departmental projects and needs.
Design, implementation, and delivery of large-scale events/activities hosted by Campus Recreation and Athletic Facilities including but not limited to, RecFest, the Bradley Homecoming Competition, etc.
Directly oversee operations of the Meinen Field Complex.
Assist with management of the Markin Recreation Center and Renaissance Coliseum; assist with setup/tear down of events throughout campus.
Assist in the annual budgeting process for the Campus Recreation and Intramural Sports area which includes developing, forecasting, and reporting on revenues and expenses related to Recreation and Intramural Sports.
Assist Office of New Student and Transfer Orientation with administrative duties from mid-May through summer orientation for up to 30 hours per week.
Candidates must possess exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills in addition to proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
Candidates must also be detail-oriented, possess excellent problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
The successful candidate will communicate a commitment to collaboration, diversity & inclusion, experiential learning, retention, and student wellness.
Frequent evening and weekend work will be required.
Master’s degree in Recreational Sports Management, Sports Administration, Exercise Science, Business Administration, or related field.
