The Department of University Recreation at Caostal Carolina University is hiring a Recreational Sports Graduate Assistant for August 2023 to December 2023 (renewable each semester and/or for an additional year following evaluation and maintaining academic progress and 3.0 or above in the program). Responsible for assisting in planning, organizing, and evaluating all activities associated with the Intramural Sports Programs including several extramural tournaments. This includes the supervising and mentoring of student employees, scheduling leagues & tournaments. The Graduate Assistant will also be responsible for facility supervision of the Williams Brice Building. This includes providing supervision for building staff, assisting in facility inspections, and assisting in management of daily operations. The Graduate Assistant will become acquainted with the procedures and guidelines associated with both University Recreation and Intramural Sports. Evening and weekend hours will be required around class times.
Duties:
Responsible for assisting in planning, organizing, and evaluating all activities associated with Intramural Programs including several extramural tournaments.
Supervising and mentoring of student employees, scheduling leagues & tournaments.
Ensuring compliance with all procedures and guidelines associated with both University Recreation and Intramural Sports and Club Sports.
Assist in facility inspections, safety checks and equipment checks daily.
Assist in management of the daily operations of the Williams Brice Building.
Assist with supervising, scheduling and managing Williams Brice staff.
Assist in development and implementation of policies, procedures and safety protocols.
Evening and weekend hours will be required around class times.
The Intramural Sports Program offers over 30 leagues, tournaments, and special events each year. We continue to add new events and activities each semester and are always looking for ways to improve our staff and programming. Each year, Intramural Sports hires approximately 100 employees who officiate, supervise and assist the program in other capacities.
