Program Specifics:
The Program Manager of Student Development is an essential position within the Department of University Recreation. This person will report to the Director of Marketing, Member Services, and Student Development. UREC hires over 400 students a year and the student development area is responsible for actively recruiting during different intervals throughout the school year and then onboarding those students as they start their UREC journey. ULEAD is also charged with creating and initiating student development programs throughout the academic year, as well as UREC recognition and awards programs and events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and evaluate student staff recruitment in multiple areas for University Recreation.
Oversee a diverse student staff (4-8) that implements employee hiring info sessions as well as UREC 101 Onboarding sessions.
Develop and prepare all learning objectives, performance objectives and materials as well as coordinate with other UREC professional staff for All Staff Welcome Kick-off and End of Year Appreciation Banquet.
Develop, implement, and evaluate student enrichment program through collaborations with other student service entities on campus.
Member of the UREC Ad Hoc Assessment Committee.
Assist Director with coordination and implementation of Student Supervisor Development Series.
Develop and execute program specific assessment tools and use feedback to enhance program satisfaction.
Assist with semesterly department events. Examples include Red Raider WelcomeFest, Winter Raider Welcome, NIRSA Day, Random Acts of Kindness Week, etc.
Assist with University Recruiting Events such as Raider Road Shows and Red Raider Orientation.
Represent Texas Tech University and the Department of University Recreation as an engaged member of various national, regional, or state professional organizations.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Previous experience working with a university population.
Strong communication and presentation skills
Leadership and supervisory experience
Ability to work as part of and lead a team that collaborates effectively with colleagues.
Ability to thrive in an environment that values high expectations, accountability, and balanced lifestyle decisions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a related field
Three or more years of supervisory experience in facility management and staff supervision.
Experience developing assessment tools, distributing assessments, and collecting data.
Experience developing co-curricular educational programs to meet learning outcomes.
American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certification within one year
