The Senior Coordinator position is an integral part of the Recreational Sports Aquatics area and reports directly to the Assistant Director for Aquatics. This staff member will participate in the programming and daily operations of the Ramsey Student Center Natatorium (open 110+ hours per week) and support academic classes, varsity swimming and diving team activities, student recreational programming and special events. Primary duties include recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling and supervising a staff of 75 to 100 lifeguards and aquatics instructors; developing and managing revenue-producing aquatic programs; and assisting with the department’s safety training and emergency action plans. This employee will also work with one graduate assistant and a full-time maintenance employee. Additionally, this person assists with providing overall leadership for the Recreational Sports staff in the development and implementation of recreational programs and services for the University of Georgia community.

Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate.
A master’s degree in recreation or a related field from an accredited college or university is preferred.
Experience in a campus recreation environment is also preferred.
