SUMMARY
The Coordinator of Fitness is responsible for the day-to-day administration and operation of comprehensive Fitness and Personal Training program for students, faculty, and staff of A&M-Commerce, and members of Campus Recreation. This position reports to the Associate Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the Group Fitness and Personal Training programs to maintain a campus wide investment in fitness and wellbeing
Plan, implement, facilitate, promote, and evaluate fitness and wellbeing special events, awareness weeks, fitness competitions, and educational workshops that meets the changing needs of various special populations, non-traditional students, residential students, faculty/staff, and community members
Recruit (Handshake), hire, train, schedule (SubItUp), develop, supervise, process payroll for (Workday), and evaluate group fitness instructors, personal trainers, and support staff
Teach multiple group exercise formats and deliver personal training services as needed
Assist in the development, enhancement, and implementation of long-term and short-term goals using statistical data
Project and fiscally maintain budgets related to program areas
Oversee the inventory, selection, layout, replacement, and maintenance of all free weight, cardio, selectorize, fitness, and program equipment
Utilize Fusion for group fitness and personal training registrations
Establish and oversee risk management policies for fitness and wellbeing programs
Assist with facility reservations related to fitness and wellbeing programs
Assist marketing program with promoting and marketing fitness and wellbeing programs.
Serve on the Campus Wellness Committee

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a health-related, business, recreation, sports management/administration, or related field
Experience/Knowledge/Skills: Two years of combined, stackable, related fitness and wellbeing programming experience which can include full-time, part-time (counts as half-time), internships (counts as half-time), and graduate assistantship (counts as half-time).
Ability to: work independently, communicate and work cooperatively with others
Licensing/Professional Certifications:
Current Group Fitness Instructor and/or Personal Trainer Certification recognized by NCCA. (ACSM, ACE, AFAA, NASM, NCCPT, or meeting the same criteria) or ability to obtain the other certification within 90 days of employment. Must maintain current and future certifications.
Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification orability to obtain within 30 days of employment
Physical Requirements: Move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
DESIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Master’s Degree in Exercise Science, Physiology Recreation, Sports Management, Sports Administration, or related field
