Kennesaw State University Department of Sports & Recreation is hiring for an Associate Director of Competitive Sports. This position oversees the programmatic aspects of Intramural Sports, Club Sports, and Summer Youth Day Camp, and leads a team of professionals in the execution of campus wide programming initiatives. The Competitive Sports program unit also provides facility space dedicated to Club Sports team training at the Owls Nest, Intramural program space at the Perch facility, and offers a full-time, in house, Athletic Training service.

Reporting to the Director of Competitive Sports, this position is responsible for directing and supervising the programming components of the Competitive Sports unit within the department of Sports and Recreation. Assists in supervising program budgets, allocations, and annual programming plans. Responsible for reviewing program policies and manuals. Requires supervising personnel and day-to-day management.
Responsibilities
Supervises full time staff and may supervise student assistants, graduate assistants, and interns.
Trains, mentors, and supervises, directly or indirectly, assigned staff, student assistants, and summer camp staff; providing frequent feedback to allow for growth and development.
Provides overall strategic planning for Intramural, Club Sports, and Summer Camp programs and sets program goals and objectives.
Assists in budgetary oversight of assigned programs including developing and administering summer camp program budget (i.e., registration fees, purchases, staffing, and contract services) and serves as primary contact for all parent inquiries.
Evaluates revenue, costs ratios, and assists director with Competitive Sports program policy creation and evaluation.
Collaboratively works with appropriate personnel to guide assessment and evaluation efforts of Club Sports, Intramural Sports, and Summer Camp program areas.
Manages the development of a comprehensive Lunch and Learn program and Club Sports Leadership Academy.
Provides guidance and sound interpretation of University, Division, Department, and Competitive Sports policies, procedures, operations, and training processes.
Guides and directs the development of the Competitive Sports program on the Marietta Campus.
Supervises the implementation of diverse programming options to include various activities, times, locations, and types of programming.
Assists director with risk management initiatives for Competitive Sports program.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Other Required Qualifications CPR/AED/First Aid Certification must obtain within six (6) months
Required Experience Four (4) years of full-time experience in a recreation setting
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications Five (5) years of full-time relevant work experience Two (2) years of supervisory experience
Preferred Educational Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
