Aquatics Graduate Assistant
Responsibilities:
Assists in the planning & implementation of the aquatic instructional and recreational programs. Assists in marketing & social media. Hire, supervise, schedule, and evaluate lifeguard staff. Provide on-going in-service training. Responsible for applicant pool, skills testing, employee information, evaluations, & current certifications. Revise and update procedural manuals. Handles customer complaints and policy interpretation. Maintains daily office hours. Is prepared to substitute for lifeguard or instructor in unforeseen circumstances.
Qualifications:
American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard Instructor and/or Nationally Certified Swim Instructor certification, 1-3 years certified lifeguard/ swim instructor experience, Bachelor’s Degree, current GRE scores, and acceptance into a UWF Graduate Program are required.

Competitive Sports Graduate Assistant
Responsibilities:
Program over 20 events each year including four major sports Hire, train, recruit, and schedule intramural sports staff including supervisors, interns, and officials Review, revise and enforce all intramural sports and sport clubs policies/procedures Work with second year Competitive Sports GA to oversee the day to day administration of the Sport Club program Advise the Sport Club Council and Executive Board. Assist with budgeting and track expenses throughout the fiscal year. Attend all student staff meetings, GA meetings, and pro staff meetings. Maintain daily office hours.Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previous successful experience in an undergraduate Intramural Sports position. Current knowledge of officiating practices and sport rules. Strong communication skills and positive attitude. Current First Aid, CPR and AED certifications or ability to obtain. Bachelor’s Degree, current GRE scores, and acceptance into a UWF Graduate Program are required.

Facilities Graduate Assistant
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Coordinator of Facilities and Special Events to manage day-to-day operations of Heath Leisure and Sport Facility, University Park, Rec Plex Field, Rec Plex Trail and other Recreation Facilities as necessary. Co-coordinate the supervision, management, hiring, training and evaluation of FACOPS and special event staff. Review and update policies and procedures for day-to-day operations of facilities. Responsible for emergency action plan training and development. Responsible for inventory and ordering of facility supplies, checkout equipment, and first aid supplies. Directly supervise and support FACOPS staff. Coordinate monthly full-staff meetings as well as staff training. Attend all student staff meetings, graduate assistant meetings and professional staff meetings. Direct and oversee the set-up and breakdown of special events. Responsible for the development and assessment of student learning. Serve on university committees as requested. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree, current GRE scores, and acceptance into a UWF Graduate Program are required.

Fitness Graduate Assistant
Responsibilities:
Hire, train, evaluate, and schedule a diverse fitness center (35), personal training (10-15), (10-15) and group fitness program and staff. Conduct personal training sessions, group fitness classes, as well as ACE PT preparatory course. Assist with the group fitness schedule. Maintain daily office hours. Oversee upkeep and maintenance of equipment and spaces, including a 10,000 sq. ft. fitness center. Assist with budgeting and track expenses throughout the fiscal year. Develop and implement professional development workshops for staff, including goal setting. Develop and implement incentive programs. Create and market the program through print and social media. Collaborate with other departments on wellness programming. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Personal Training and/or Group Fitness certification (ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NSCA, or ISSA), 1-3 years personal training/group fitness experience, Bachelor’s Degree, current GRE scores, and acceptance into a UWF Graduate Program are required.

Outdoor Adventures Graduate Assistant
Responsibilities:
Lead a comprehensive university outdoor recreation program, including climbing center, trips, challenge course, disc golf, and bicycle programs. Collaborate on department-level projects with other graduate assistants and professionals. Take a leadership role in the operation of the climbing center and trip areas. Oversee maintenance and inspection of Climbing Center, Bike Shop, Outdoor Center and all equipment associated with those program areas. Assist with clinics, special events, and department programs as needed. Manage the hiring, scheduling, training, and supervising of 12+ instructors (Climbing instructors, Trip leaders and Bike Shop attendants). Plan, budget, market, and lead trips. Work with the Coordinator to administer the program budget and risk management procedures. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience in outdoor activities, such as backpacking, canoe camping, rock climbing, and kayaking. At least one year of trip leader experience. Knowledge of Leave No Trace principles. Wilderness First Responder Certification or able to obtain. Experience as a climbing instructor in an indoor climbing facility. Bachelor’s Degree, and acceptance into a UWF Graduate Program are required.
