The Associate Director for Programs supports the mission of Campus Recreation to provide unparalleled recreation programs, services, and facilities that support students in living active lives of meaning and purpose.
This position under the guidance of the Executive Director for Campus Recreation oversees all UK Campus Recreation program areas. [Fitness, Intramurals, Outdoor Adventures] and plays a critical role in connecting campus recreation programs to the UK, OVPSS strategic plan.
This position must be capable of understanding multiple domains of recreation programming, strategic vision, assessment, leadership, planning, risk management, compliance, and budgets. The position requires the initiative, and vision to meet ever-changing student needs, interests, and demographics to deliver programs that build a mind-body connection, offer shared experiences, and help release stress. The position must lead, coach, and be accountable to staff including leading the department in the absence of the Executive Director.
This position requires a technical understanding of several different software programs, the ability to form good working relationships with other university departments and outside vendors, along with the ability to move the program forward over time.
