Rental Center & OAWC Facility Operations:
The Manager of the Rental Center is responsible for the leadership and direction of the day to day operation of the Rental Center and OAWC Facility Operations including: hiring and managing rental center employees, staff training and development, payroll, Touchnet cash handling system and Rent Master rental database maintenance, Touchnet/Rentmaster reconciliation, group invoicing, rental center equipment maintenance, new equipment fleet purchasing, employee building access, and facility maintenance. This position facilitates more than 3000 customer interactions annually and generates more that $350,000 in revenue and oversees the inventory and maintenance of 172,800 individual inventory items.

Retail shop/program
Ski Tuning shop/program
Bike Shop/program
Bloomington Canyon Yurt Facility
Special Events:
Manager contributes to special events such as Experience Weber, the annual Outdoor Gear Sale and Swap, the Ogden Climbing Festival, and a series of educational clinics including tuning clinics, repair clinics, and other smaller events. These programs and events take place on campus, on areas of public lands though special use permits spread across the intermountain west.
Management Duties:
The Rental Center Manager fills in for Associate Director on facility operations decisions and oversight when Associate Director is out.
The Manager oversees the hiring, training, supervision of 1 hourly intern, 3 student managers, 10-15 Specialist positions, 20-30 Rental Center technicians. There is some crossover into the Adventure Program for trip leading, and instruction.
Additional Duties:
Other expectations of the Manager of the Rental Center include the following:
Monitor budgets and spending for the programs; actively seek to create new revenue streams, data driven decision making, and expand existing revenue streams.
Assist with assessment efforts of the Student Affairs (SA) Division and within the programs including basic tracking of activities, program and staff evaluation, and the measuring of learning outcomes.
Collaborate with SA colleagues, academic colleagues, professional organizations, and community partners to develop mutual relationships that directly benefit students.
Represent the Campus Recreation Department and Outdoor Program and serve on various Student Affairs, University, and Professional Organization Committees.
This position requires some evening and weekend work.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in business management, recreation management or related field.
Three years of relevant professional experience showing progressively responsible experience.
Current CPR and Wilderness First Responder or ability to acquire within 6 month of employment.
Computer proficiency with word processing.
Budget management experience.
Preferred:
Masters degree in recreation management or related field. Swift Water Rescue certification, Ski Tech certification, Utah Boat Captains License, Advanced Ski Tech experience, AMGA Single pitch Instructor Certification or equivalent, Wilderness First Responder Certification, Advanced Bike Maintenance experience.
Ability to instruct and technical proficiency in rock climbing, kayaking, rafting, skiing/snowboarding, snowshoeing, mountaineering, backpacking, canyoneering, Mountain biking. Course leader level certifications.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Problem-solving and conflict management skills. Rental database experience.
Computer proficiency with database management, spreadsheets, and web page management.
