HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE: 1) You’ll be joining the Recreational Sports team; a department centered on promoting wellbeing, physical activity, sport and fitness by providing excellent recreational facilities and programs. 2) You’ll be reporting to the Assistant Director of Sports Clubs, in a Regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment.? 3) You’ll be responsible for the administration and management of the university's sport club program consisting of 30+ competitive teams with over 1,400 student athletes. 4) You’ll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division. 5) You’ll be offered a base compensation package between $44,000-$49,500, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Recreation, Business, or closely related field and equivalent related experience. • Prior experience working in a recreational or athletic administrative setting or closely related field. • Demonstrated passion for student development. • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. • Experience managing budgets. • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain successful relationships with a diverse student, staff, alumni and guest population. • Considerable experience using a computer and software system with evidence of proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet preparation and utilization, database entry and maintenance. • Must possess strong organizational skills that include the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and perform multiple functions with overlapping deadlines. • Demonstrated ability to work independently and operate within a team based environment.
Preferred Qualifications • Master's Degree in Sports Management, Higher Education, Recreation or related field. • Prior work experience within collegiate sport or recreation. • Experience advising students in a higher education setting. • Experience supervising full or part-time employees • Experience with sports management database systems such as Innosoft Fusion, IM Leagues, etc. • Experience with marketing, communication and social media management.
