Overview:
The Graduate Assistant for Operations supports the daily operations of the Colvin Recreation Center and the Department of Wellness ensuring a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for all members and guests. The Graduate Assistant role involves overseeing over 75 student staff, facility operations, and the development and implementation of operational policies. The role works closely with the Coordinator of Operations & Student Development and will gain valuable experience in leadership, facility management, and student development.
Position Duties:
Help in supervising, development, and evaluation of over 75 student employees
Recruit, hire, and train Operation Attendant staff on policies and procedures of the Department of Wellness and Oklahoma State University
Develop and enforce policies and procedures within operations including program and staff manuals
Organize and facilitate monthly staff in-services for Operations student staff
Assist in the management of Innosoft Fusion, membership software, through point of sale, inventory management, and reservations
Conduct semesterly audits on Emergency Action Plans and CPR for all operations student staff
Partner with the Department of Wellness staff to plan and execute key program and initiatives, such as Rock the Rec, All Staff Training, and additional events as they arise throughout the year

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in recreation, sports management, or related field
Experience working in campus recreation or similar setting is preferred
Note: Graduate Assistants are responsible for university fees.
Monthly stipend of $1,500 for 9.5 months
