We are searching for our next Competitive Sports Graduate Assistant as we strive to meet our campus’ needs and invite you to join our team.
Competitive Sports Program Summary
Intramural Sports at Oklahoma State is the largest student program on campus that offers over 50 different sports and activities with 5,000+ unique participants each year. Our Club Sports program has over 1,600 members participating in 40 active clubs. The Competitive Sports program employs over 25 supervisors, 100 officials and check-in staff throughout the course of an academic year.
Position Duties:
Intramural Sports
Train, develop and schedule Intramural Officials in league sports and assist with the development and oversight of Competitive Sports Supervisor staff
Create and publish team schedules and playoff brackets
Conduct player education/disciplinary meetings as needed
Collaborate with campus partners that provide inclusive programming including Unified Intramural Sports and additional services / programs to underrepresented populations
Club Sports
Work directly with club officers in planning and coordination of travel, home event requests, and other club events both on and off campus for up to 10 clubs
Develop and oversee administration of policies and procedures for the entire Club Sports program
Conduct and lead Club Sports officer meetings
Work with the Club Sports Executive Committee on program and policy changes / improvements
Learning Outcomes:
As a result of being a graduate teaching assistant at Oklahoma State University, you will be able to demonstrate OSU’s Ideal Graduate Competencies, including professional preparedness, engaged citizenship, ethical leadership, and personal responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
Applicants should demonstrate ability to recruit, hire and train student personnel. It is recommended to have a strong officiating background in one or more of the following sports: football, basketball, soccer, softball and/or volleyball.
Officiating and/or supervising intramural or club sport activities and tournament experience is preferred. A willingness to pursue campus recreation as a career is preferred. Knowledge and experience with using IMLeagues, WhenToWork, DSE, and/or Connect2 is beneficial.
Note: Graduate Assistants are responsible for university fees
Monthly stipend of $1,500 for 9.5 months

Oklahoma State University is a Division I school with an enrollment of 24,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The Department of Wellness is a comprehensive health and wellness program for faculty, staff and students. Included are Outdoor Aquatics,Intramural Sports, over 40 Sport Clubs, Outdoor Adventure, Fitness and Wellness programs.
