The Esports Graduate Assistant shall maintain a role in assisting the Esports Program at Kennesaw State University in the following areas: Premier Team Management, Club Team Management, and Events. Candidate should strive to develop and progress the Esports Program. The position will uphold the Department of Sports and Recreation mission, vision, and values throughout work and participation in programs.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the onboarding and development of Esports Program student staff through recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating student
• Premier Team Management
  • Schedule practice sessions and scrimmages for premier teams
  • Maintain communication between program leadership, premier team players and coaches, and occasionally competition officials
  • Keep and maintain competition records of premier teams
  • Complete bi-weekly Team Manager Report Form
• Club Team Management
  • Lead Monthly Meetings with student leaders from various game communities
  • Maintain communication between program leadership and esports program game communities
  • Keep and maintain competition records of club teams
• Events
  • Create and maintain an event calendar for the semester
  • Collaborate with other departments to host a select number of events
  • Manage logistics and other elements of event planning.
  • Attend and facilitate events
  • Complete after-action reports for events
• Assist with Sports and Recreation Departmental Events – including Rock the Rec, Turkey Trot (5k), Involvement Fairs, Homecoming, and others.
• Monitor program webpages and platforms for current and accurate information concerning esports program events, leagues, schedules, and locations.
• Adhere to departmental risk management plans, be prepared to administer basic first aid and emergency care on-site.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Media and Entertainment, Software Engineering, or other field related to esports; effective communication and customer service skills; ability to collaboratively work with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Requires walking or standing frequently; occasional sitting for extended periods of time; occasional lifting of objects up to 45lbs; and frequent lifting or carrying of objects up to 10lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two years’ experience working with an esports program; passion for esports and program success; ability to work with a diverse group; career aspirations in esports; motivated, enthusiastic, and attentive to detail.
