STIPEND:
$9,000 for a 9-month appointment and a full base NDSU tuition waiver (the student is responsible for associated fees and books). Professional development opportunities may be available.

Graduate Assistant for Club Sports
The Graduate Assistant for Club Sports at the North Dakota State University Wellness Center will support the Assistant Director of Club Sports in providing leadership and direction in the development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of a premier club sport program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Club Sport Administrative Management- (70%)
Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Club Sports to develop and manage all aspects of the NDSU Club Sport program.
Oversee program operations in the absence of the Assistant Director of Club Sports.
Serve as a liaison between program participants, advisors, and coaches, facilitating communication, gathering feedback, and addressing questions and concerns.
Assist in developing and maintaining competitive club sport guidelines and requirements, outlining the process for becoming and remaining a competitive club sport.
Support the advisement and management of 30+ club sports.
Collaborate regularly with the Office of Student Engagement, Student Government, and the Office of Registration and Records regarding club sport eligibility, player infractions, and other related matters.
Assist in developing and implementing policies that ensure safe, effective club sport operations and risk management.
Serve as a resource for processing and following-up with clubs related to club sport travel forms.
Maintain a close working relationship with the Congress of Student Organizations’ Executive Commissioner and the Finance Executive Commissioners.
Assist with club sport logo approvals through Athletics and the University.
In partnership with the Office of Student Engagement, seek opportunities and serve as a resource for students interested in starting new club sports.
Attend and remain visible at club sport practices, events, and games.
Assist in finding and scheduling facility space for practices and games.
Develop a club sports newsletter.
Attend recruitment events hosted by the Office of Admission to promote NDSU Club Sports.
Respond promptly to inquiries from prospective club sport athletes and other constituents.
Meet with prospective club sport athletes during their prospective student visit to NDSU.
Assist in the planning, organizing, and implementation of an NDSU Club Sports Visit Day.
Participate in Wellness Center meetings, trainings, retreats, and staff development activities.
Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Club Sport Student Leader Development: (30%)
Organize meetings and trainings for team captains, advisors, and coaches that include:
Wellness Center/Student Engagement/Student Government and University policies
How to complete required forms
Facility space and scheduling
Assist club sports with their budgeting processes and serve as a resource.
Assist with anti-hazing oversight and other well-being education programs.
Provide Excellent Customer Service and Work Effectively in a Team While Doing the Following: (100%)
Provide prompt, courteous and efficient customer service to all visitors, students, faculty and staff
Establish and maintain strong, supportive, and positive working relationships with co-workers and students.
Uphold the values of honesty, respect, integrity and trust
Respect the value, creativity, and diversity of all persons, which includes diversity of opinions and professional approaches.
Work safely and supervise a safe work environment.
Complete all department and university required trainings.
Maintain confidentiality with all visitors, staff, faculty and students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
Accepted and enrolled full-time in an NDSU graduate program.
Maintain good academic standing throughout the period of the assistantship.
Successfully complete a criminal background check.
Certified in Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid (or able to obtain certification within the first 3 months of employment).
No outside employment that could conflict with the requirements of the position.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to successfully collaborate with individuals and/or groups from a variety of areas at NDSU.
Ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
Proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other similar programs.
PREFFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or Sport Management
One year of club sport/intramural work experience
Participation in a collegiate club sport as an undergraduate student.
Experience recruiting students to participate in club sports.
Demonstrated working knowledge of a variety of sports.
EMPLOYMENT DATES:
This is a 9-month appointment starting in August and ending in May. The graduate assistant position is available for a maximum of two years, with the second-year contingent on performance and a successful annual responsibility review. The student is required to work 20 hours per week. An annual contract will be signed, outlining all work weeks and hours for the academic year.
