University Recreation at Western Michigan University is looking for a motivated, team-oriented individual to fill our open Esports and Arena Specialist position. This position will oversee the Esports program and daily operations of the Esports Arena and Student Recreation Center Gaming Lab. This person will also assist with departmental programs and events, and empower Broncos to live a positive, healthy, and active lifestyle.

Summary of Major Duties
Oversees day-to-day operations for program facilities including arena, practice, competition spaces, scheduling, and equipment maintenance.
Administers Esports activities and live events including, but not limited to competitions, summer camps, and rental events.
Ensures the safety of participants and the security of Esports arena equipment. Develops and monitors risk management procedures, protocols, and trainings.
Makes purchase and budget recommendations regarding Esports programs. Assists with securing sponsorships for the Esports program.
Responds to all inquiries received from social media and University web pages.
Reviews and analyzes new and current programming. Makes recommendations for additions and modifications to meet client needs.
Recruits students to participate in the Esports program and coaches teams.
Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises staff and student employees.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
One years’ relevant experience in related field.
Knowledge of risk management and facility management.
First Aid/CPR/AED certification(s) must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekend and holiday rotation.
Desired Qualifications
Master’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
First Aid/CPR instructor certification.
Previous experience training and supervising staff.
