JMU's Campus Recreation Concentration in the Sport and Recreation Leadership Master's program can help you achieve your campus recreation career goals! Designed and instructed by successful professionals in the field, you'll have the opportunity to directly implement and practice your academic coursework in JMU's nationally-recognized Recreation Department (UREC) as a Graduate Assistant. 

James Madison University Recreation (UREC) is now accepting applications for the following Graduate Assistant positions:

• Aquatics & Safety
• Fitness & Group Exercise
• Intramural Sports
• Member Services

Preference for these assistantships is given to those admitted to the Campus Recreation concentration. Applications for the academic program are accepted on a rolling basis.

Graduate Assistantships include enrollment in an academic program and involve 20 hours of work per week at UREC during the academic school year. In addition to the $10,301 stipend, positions include a tuition waiver, a professional development stipend and an academic book or dining benefit.

Applications for UREC Graduate Assistantships are accepted on a rolling basis and will remain open until filled. 

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and acceptance into graduate program (individuals may apply prior to admission, however, an individual must be accepted into a graduate program before an offer may be extended). If applicable, additional preferred requirements are provided on the individual job postings.
