Each position will work an average of 20 hours per week and receive a $2,800.00 monthly stipend and full tuition waiver (student comprehensive fees are the responsibility of the Graduate Assistant -- this past year, comprehensive fees were $1,737.00 per semester). All offers are contingent on acceptance to a Virginia Tech Graduate Program.

Intramural Sports Graduate Assistant (2 positions): Virginia Tech is currently accepting applications for the position of Intramural Sports Graduate Assistant. This position is a 2-year commitment as a full-time graduate student within the Department of Recreational Sports. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director for Intramural Sports and the Intramural Sports Coordinator, responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1) assist with planning, development, and implementation of all sport leagues/activities and special events/programs; 2) develop and conduct officials’ training clinics; 3) recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate sports officials/supervisors for intramural activities for major team sports; 4) promote the advancement of equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace; and 5) help manage student payroll, budget planning, policy development, and equipment inventory/purchasing.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Acceptance to a Virginia Tech graduate program
Sports officiating experience
Preferred Qualifications
Two or more years of involvement as an undergraduate in recreational sports programming with experience in staff management and supervision
Experience with intramural programming/administration including using league management systems (e.g., IMLeagues or Fusion Play)
Advanced sports officiating experience or certifications (e.g., high school officiating, NIRSA Championship Series officiating, rec/adult league officiating, etc.)
