James Madison University Recreation (UREC) is now accepting applications for the Graduate Assistant for Intramural Sports & Youth Programs. The Graduate Assistant for Intramural Sports and Youth Programs will coordinate team sport officials and site managers training, supervision and evaluation. This GA will provide leadership to the Intramural Sports site manager and sport officials student staffs. This GA will coordinate selected aspects of Intramural Sports and Youth Programs program planning. Facility supervision and operational responsibilities for the University Recreation Center and satellite facilities is required.Apply now!
Graduate Assistantships include enrollment in an academic program and involve 20 hours of work per week at UREC during the academic school year. In addition to the $9,710 stipend, positions include a tuition waiver, a professional development stipend, and an academic book or dining benefit.
JMU's Campus Recreation Concentration in the Sport and Recreation Leadership Master's program can help you achieve your campus recreation career goals! Designed and instructed by successful professionals in the field, you'll have the opportunity to directly implement and practice your academic coursework in JMU's nationally-recognized Recreation Department (UREC) as a Graduate Assistant. Applications for the academic program are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis.
Requirements:Preference for this assistantship is given to those admitted to the Campus Recreation concentration. Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in related field. Sports officiating and/or officials training experience preferred.
