PRIMARY DUTY: Responsible for the recruitment, development, operation, and supervision of the Esports Department combined with the coaching of the varsity teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Collaborates with Admissions and Student Services for recruiting and enrolling prospective students from point of inquiry through registration. Conduct recruitment activities in accordance with Esports governing bodies.
Accountable for the registration, scheduling, evaluation, maintenance, risk management, budget and overall program operations.
Coaching duties include students in individual play, game strategies, teamwork, physical and mental well-being.
Develop and implement academic opportunities centered around Esports. Serve as the Instructor for the Esports Class.
Research and implement sponsorship opportunities.
Direct events and tournaments.
Schedule and manage day to day operations of the Esports Lab.
Lead in the planning and administration of summer camps and other additional sources of revenue.
Travel with the team to venues. (as needed)
Ensures gender equity, diversity, and inclusion in program.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Graduate and undergraduate students employed by the department.
EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED: Twitch,Northwest Missouri State University CatPaws, Email, Canvas, GroupMe, Astra Scheduling, Sportsman, and more.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience: Experience working in an Esports/recreational environment for at least one year
Competencies:
Ability to provide positive leadership, organization, teamwork, and lead students while working in a dynamic, changing, and diverse environment.
Strong gaming technology including computer hardware and software
Exhibit professionalism and positive customer relation skills.
Genuine interest in gaining experience and knowledge to enhance skills in chosen career.
Strong written and oral communication skills including face-to-face interactions, phone calls, emails, etc., and the ability to multitask.
Able to maintain confidentiality of protected information for student employees and students, faculty, and staff in the general school population that includes all patrons of the Esports Facility.
Awareness of basic safety and risk management protocols.
WORKING CONDITIONS: This is a 12-month position with some nights as late as midnight, and some weekends. This position requires driving a University vehicle on and off campus to transport people. Must have a current, valid US Driver’s License and ability to maintain a safe driving record. Must meet all University requirements to drive a University vehicle.
