In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is AFT: Range 24 $73,899.91 to $84,980.25 with placement within the range determined by candidate's qualifications, professional experience, internal equity, and other factors.

Job Responsibilities
Staff & Student Development
Directly supervise approximately sixty - (60) part-time aquatics and safety staff, which includes a graduate coordinator, lifeguards, swim instructors, American Red Cross CPR/1st Aid/AED and Lifeguard instructors
Directly coordinate and direct aquatic and safety staff recruitment, hiring, training and evaluation
Conduct monthly staff in-services
Ability to cover instructor and lifeguard shifts and find substitute when needed in on-call and emergency situations
Supervise payroll for all aquatic and safety employees
Evaluate and assess aquatic and safety programs, staff, and facilities; contribute to the development of learning outcomes
Program Management
Coordinate, implement, and supervise revenue generating aquatic programs including group and private youth and adult swimming lessons, masters swimming, lifeguard training courses, certifications, and other events
Educate and research all current trends in aquatics programming, facilities, and staffing
Market, promote, and evaluate all aquatics programs and events
Communicate and coordinate Varsity Athletics Swim programs and university events reserved pool usage, review regulations/policies, and collaborate/assist with all home varsity swim meets
Manage assigned budgetary responsibilities
Complete annual comprehensive analytical and statistical reports regarding aquatic facility usage, certifications, and programs
Safety and Risk/Emergency Management
Review, evaluate, develop, and enforce policies and procedures for aquatic facilities
Create, implement, and enforce a risk management plan for both pools
Develop, coordinate, and review campus recreation facility emergency procedures and action plans
Coordinate and implement all risk management initiatives for the department annually
Facilitate and schedule the training of the Campus Recreation staff in American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, AED, and blood borne pathogen training
Coordinate and implement all university emergency processes (i.e.: evacuation protocols and exercises with EMS, 2 way radio communication for all staff)
Maintain and update all required certifications for all campus recreation employees
Oversee campus recreation injury reporting database and directly communicate with the university risk management office on mandatory reporting processes
Facility Management
Inspect, evaluate, and troubleshoot pool areas daily and maintain water quality of each pool; prepare inspection reports on an ongoing basis; prepare necessary documentation to meet or exceed federal, state, and county requirements/codes
Manage and schedule utilization requests by all constituents and communicate aquatics program and usage schedule to members and to the campus community at large
Coordinate the purchase, inventory, and maintenance of aquatic equipment and supplies
Respond and react to on-call situations and be available to take necessary actions with aquatic facility emergencies
Oversee the daily management of the university pool facility
Responsible for obtaining, educating, and researching information on all aquatics equipment, instruments, mechanical systems, materials, and supplies and implement effective utilization
Assist in coordinating and communicating with pool vendors to ensure high quality maintenance of all pools to include chemical levels and balancing, pool cleanliness, deck cleanliness, and other issues pertaining to pool operations and patron safety
Assist in collaborating and corresponding with Rowan Facilities Operations and Physical Plant and contracted vendors regarding on-going aquatic facility projects, renovations, and maintenance
Administrative Responsibilities
Create an environment that promotes and facilitates student learning and development
Provide superior customer service to all campus recreation patrons
Actively participate in the student development program including new employee orientation, the annual employee training program, and ongoing training sessions and in-services
Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, in-service education sessions, and other divisional or departmental meetings
Assist with planning, organizing, coordinating, and evaluating on-going departmental special events
Participate in other Division of Student Life initiatives, programs, and committees as required
Assist in the overall operation of the department by providing input and completing assigned projects, annual goals and objectives, and annual reports
Supervisory Responsibility, if any:
Part-time student staff (Graduate Coordinator, Lifeguards, Swim Instructors, American Red Cross Instructors, Aquatic Supervisors, Possible Intern)

Education
Master’s degree from an accredited College or University and one year of professional experience
NOTE: Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2 years paraprofessional experience in collegiate recreation can be in lieu of one year of professional experience
Experience:
