Creighton University in Omaha, NE is hiring an Assistant Director of Recreation Operations. Housed in the Division of Student Life, Recreation + Wellness (RecWell) provides recreational and wellness opportunities to Creighton students, faculty, staff, and guests. This position is responsible for the development and oversight of day-to-day operations for the department.
Responsibilities Include:
Managing day-to-day operations, reservations, membership services, locker services and assisting in the maintenance of RecWell facilities.
Hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating 60+ student employees working as Program Assistants, Building Supervisors, Desk Attendants & Office Assistants.
Planning and executing departmental special events.
Assisting in department strategic planning.
Representing RecWell on university committees, events and initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required in related field. Master’s degree is preferred (i.e. Exercise science, Kinesiology, Sport management, etc.)
2 years of related experience; operating recreation/athletic facilities and managing staff.
Red Cross First Aid, AED and CPR are required, Instructor certification required within 6 months of employment.
Experience organizing and running special events (i.e. wellness fairs, welcome week events, etc.)
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written and the ability to navigate conflict effectively.
