Job Summary Plan and direct the Competitive Sports program within the Campus Recreation organization. Responsibilities include the development and management of a comprehensive program of club sports, intramural sports activities for students, faculty and staff and a multidimensional youth summer camp program for the campus community. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.
This position will interact on a consistent basis with other Campus Recreation management and professional staff, Student Engagement and Well-Being management, coaches, volunteers, various student groups and alumni and representatives of Risk Management and Legal Services.

This position will supervise assigned staff
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 - Organize and oversee the daily operations of assigned area of responsibility ensuring that functions are carried out consistent with policy
Job Duty 2 - Formulate and oversee implementation of policies and procedures for area of responsibility
Job Duty 3 - Monitor assigned program results, take corrective actions, or implement enhancements as appropriate
Job Duty 4 - Plan and direct promotional efforts for assigned function or programs as appropriate
Job Duty 5 - Formulate and, on approval, administer operating budget for assigned area
Job Duty 6 - Train and supervise assigned staff
Job Duty 7 - Provide advisory resources to Associate Directors in order to inform on potential program changes or make recommendations for new programs.
Job Duty 8 - Manage the area's technology needs and research new trends where appropriate
Job Duty 9 - Market and manage a multidimensional summer camp program including hiring staff, developing curriculum, managing risk, and providing a learning environment for staff and participants
Job Duty 10 - Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience Four to five years job related experience
Preferred Qualifications Varies with function assignment, but may included CPR, First Aid and AED instructor certification; sports officiating certifications, national certification in personal training (ACE, ACSM, NCSA) and group exercise (ACE, AFAA, ACSM), Water Safety Instructor Trainer, SCUBA
