The Work Well (Employee Wellness) Coordinator position plans, delivers, and evaluates a comprehensive worksite wellness program for employees of the University of North Dakota. With a strong emphasis on collaboration and inclusion, this position is a critical component of efforts to create a wellness culture for those who work, study, and live on the UND and its satellite campuses. The emphasis of this position is to connect employees with programs and services that aim to improve their health behaviors, well-being, and overall quality of life. The Work Well Employee Wellness Coordinator serves on the leadership team of Wellness & Health Promotion in order to engage in mutually beneficial support with program development and evaluation in support of a culture of wellness at UND.
Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate the development and administration of a comprehensive worksite wellness program.
Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of theory-based and evidence-informed health promotion strategies, programs, and services to faculty and staff at UND.
Apply professionally recognized methods and tested theories to the development of health promotion activities. Assure that messages and programming are consistent with ACHA Standards of Practice for Health Promotion in Higher Education, CAS Standards, and other proven public health and higher education principles.
Develop strategic plans, goals, and measurable objectives for employee health promotion. Ensure that programming and messaging aligns with department, division, and university priorities.
Assist with the development, implementation, and analysis of periodic health and wellness surveys that provide baseline and follow-up health data, identify program needs and priorities, evaluate effectiveness of interventions, and track trends in employee health and wellness status and behavior. Obtain IRB approval as appropriate.
Pursue national recognition through appropriate organizations.
Manage the Work Well website/digital media, and programmatic details to enhance ease of communication and access.
Collaborate with appropriate partners to support a shared vision of a wellness culture for the campus community, with a primary focus on employees.
Consult and collaborate with campus, community partners/coalitions, and relevant content experts to provide comprehensive programs/services to ensure that messaging conveys accurate information for UND employees.
Collaborate with other public health/health promotion initiatives on prevention, education, and outreach efforts.
Maintain an engaged group of volunteer Work Well Ambassadors.
Partner with relevant entities to provide exceptional learning experiences for students.
Supervise the Work Well support staff.
Develop and manage annual budgets for all assigned operational/program areas.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors Degree. December graduates will be considered.
Work experience in programs and events (development, planning, and/or implementation)
Certification of First Aid, CPR, and AED or be able to obtain within 2 months of hire.
Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree: Worksite Wellness, Nursing, community/public/corporate health/fitness, health promotion, dietetics, or a related field. • One or more years’ supervisory experience. • One or more years’ experience in a work-site/employee wellness • Experience in program and budget management. • Experience and demonstrated knowledge in program assessment and evaluation. • Experience working in a higher education environment. • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification or related.
