Campus Recreation & Wellness at Western Kentucky University invites applications for a dynamic professional to join our team. We are seeking a Coordinator for Sports Programs, a key position that will help shape an energetic, student-centered program for the WKU campus community. This position assists with the leadership and vision for Intramural and Club Sports within Campus Recreation & Wellness. Working under the direction of the Assistant Director for Programs, the Coordinator oversees the development and delivery of CRW's sports programming and operations of the IM Sports Complex. Together, along with the Sports Programs Graduate Assistant, this team creates a comprehensive and engaging approach to sports programming and staff development. The Coordinator assists with budgets, assessment and marketing efforts, and fosters an environment that supports student development, staff growth, and a sense of belonging across campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Provide leadership of Intramural Sports and Sport Club programs in the administration of single-day events, practices, multi-week leagues, club competitions, and other developmental opportunities
Responsible for the development of Sport Programs student staff through recruitment, mentoring, training, and continuing education opportunities to include in-services, regularly scheduled meetings, and additional opportunities.
Assist with supervision, leadership, mentoring and evaluation of the Sports Programs Graduate Assistant.
Oversee the Sport Club and Intramural budgets with Assistant Director.
Schedules practices and games for all sport clubs and intramural events.
Develop and implement assessment strategies and tools to assess participants’ needs and interests, satisfaction, and impact.
Work with departmental marketing on promoting the Sports Programs events and activities.
Assist in the preparation of student payroll.
Assist with the management of the Intramural Sports Complex, to include field and facility maintenance, inventory control, as well as reservations and rentals.
Coordinate, assess, and manage a comprehensive club sports program, to include the development and administration of policies and procedures, budget management, risk management, scheduling, and recruitment of new clubs.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum of two (2) years of related experience (undergraduate employment, internships and graduate assistantships may count toward this requirement).
At least one (1) year of personnel supervision experience (supervision of student staff, graduate assistant, and/or full-time personnel).
AED, CPR, and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within three months of employment).
